<title><![CDATA[Mitsubishi NX-Type Full-SiC module]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<img src="https://www.arcel.fr/upload/blockblog/mitsubishi-nx-type-full-sic-500x500.jpg" title="Mitsubishi NX-Type Full-SiC module" alt="thumb" />After over thirteen years of continuous innovation and the successful launch of the first generation of semiconductor modules integrating silicon carbide (SiC) chips, Mitsubishi reached a new milestone in the summer of 2023. The company unveiled the second generation of its SiC semiconductor module, named the Nx-Type Full-SiC, marking a significant advancement in the field of power electronics.
Mitsubishi's work on the Nx-Type Full-SiC module focused on reducing power losses and optimizing the electrode structure. The latter is now equipped with layered electrodes, reducing internal inductance to just 9nH - a significant 47% reduction compared to the previous module. This technological breakthrough eliminates overvoltages and safeguards the entire system while enabling faster switching. As a result, both switching and power losses are also reduced.
One of the key features of this second generation is the integration of a low-loss SiC chip, utilizing the junction field-effect transistor (JFET) doping technology. This technique, increasing impurity density in the JFET region, enhances device density. The result is a substantial reduction in power loss, around 72%, making the module significantly more efficient. This decrease in power loss also has a beneficial impact on thermal management, allowing for the use of more compact and lightweight cooling systems.

<title><![CDATA[Our range of electrical insulators]]></title>

Suitable for industry use, they withstand high voltages and temperatures up to 100°C. 
Moreover, they comply with stringent quality and safety standards, including EN-45545, UL 94-VO, and REACH/ROHS regulations, thereby ensuring their reliability and conformity.

        

      
Our ARCEL insulator range includes over 280 references, thanks to a wide selection of inserts, male and female in M4, M5, M6, M8, as well as varying body heights from 14 to 21 mm; our insulators are adaptable to a multitude of systems and projects.





Our insulators are composed of a fiberglass-reinforced polyester insulating body, as well as precision-machined steel inserts with zinc protection. Additionally, being manufactured using thermoset materials, they exhibit superior mechanical resistance.
With 30 years of experience in insulator manufacturing, ARCEL has mastered the entire production chain with its well-established production systems.
More than 200,000 pieces are produced annually, ensuring regular supply with short delivery times.

All these steps are particularly undertaken by the power electronics sector, which is the driving force behind energy manufacturing.
The segment of energy production through hydrogen requires, first and foremost, the knowledge and expertise of power electronics specialists for the production phase (electrolysis) and subsequently for hydrogen storage, to be used as an energy source (fuel cells).
These power electronics stakeholders face various challenges. They need to offer high-power installations while maximizing efficiency and managing grid pollution issues to enhance system integration.
ARCEL contributes to this environmental fight on its own scale by offering converters suitable for hydrogen production systems. <title><![CDATA[Multi-level inverter]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<img src="https://www.arcel.fr/upload/blockblog/onduleur-multi-niveaux-500x500.jpg" title="Multi-level inverter" alt="thumb" />ARCEL design and manufacture high power multi-level inverters for more than 15 years, especially for navy motor drives.
Multi-level technolgy allow to work at higher input voltage, using standard IGBT or SiC semiconductors.
Most common 3 level topologies of inverter are :

NPC – Nentral Point Clamped (left schematic)
ANPC – Active Nentral Point Clamped (right schematic)


Despite IGBT are already available at high voltage level (typically for railway), these products remains very expensive which make them incompatible with an industrial application.
Nowadays energy efficiency is an essential criteria for any power electronics application. Multi-level topologies have a much better efficiency all over the current range, in particular at low current level compared to standard inverter configuration.
Multi-level inverter have been initially used for specific applications, but we see a trend opening this configuration to much wider applications like industry and energy storage.

Engineers and project teams define electrically and mechanically base converter brick. It is then possible to combine several bricks together in order to reach power up to megawatts.

You want to adress several markets based on 3 power ratings 500kW, 1MW and 1,5MW ? ARCEL can assist you in the design and manufacturing of a standard 500kW modular converter brick that you will duplicate for 1 and 1,5MW configurations.
Modular converters are made for :      Increasing current level through paralleling of IGBT     Increasing voltage level by a smart choice of IGBT available in several voltage ratings
Modular converters are available with major IGBT topologies like inverter or chopper. Power ratings goes from 100kW up to several MW. This range if product is dedicated to anticipate futures challenges regarding energy in most industrial applications.
